Transamerica ART appTransamerica Retirement Solutions launched a new augmented reality app that promotes retirement readiness and help users increase their retirement savings.

Named “Augmented Reality by Transamerica” (ART), the app provides a new approach with interactive mobile technology. It allows users to watch short retirement readiness awareness videos.

ART users, whose employers have Transamerica as their retirement plan provider, are taken to Transamerica’s website to follow the next steps on saving for retirement.

The app lets users click at a printed advertisement on their smartphones and it gives them an additional digital layer of content.

Now, users are given a selection of short videos promoting the need to save for retirement. Transamerica is currently providing promotional posters to plan sponsor clients that will provide the augmented reality experience.

New Approach to Retirement Planning

“Transamerica’s new ART app is groundbreaking because it provides an augmented reality experience and then allows the user to take action to enroll in their company’s retirement plan, increase their contribution percentages, or to assess their financial outlook for retirement,” said Stig Nybo, president of U.S. retirement strategy for Transamerica Retirement Solutions.

“Transamerica is a technology leader, and this app allows us to take a fun approach to addressing the serious topic of saving more for retirement,” added Nybo.

Transamerica has been using technology to promote retirement readiness for many years. In 2013, Transamerica launched the Retirement Outlook EstimatorSM, an award-winning app that lets users determine their forecast for reaching individual savings objectives.

The retirement plan sponsor and participant websites of Transamerica are given top accolades from customer satisfaction surveys and independent research firms.

An Innovative Approach

“Studies show more people are using their mobile devices to manage their daily lives, including their retirement accounts. Millennials are especially apt to using their smartphone as their primary means of retrieving information,” Nybo continued.

“Mobile apps are a convenient way for users to get information they seek while it is still top-of-mind, and allows for quick and efficient interaction. Inspiring people to take a positive action toward a brighter retirement is why Transamerica focuses on bringing new technology to our customers.”

The new mobile app is available for download at Google Play or Apple iTunes.
